Captain: Michalis Zarokostas
Captain Michalis holds a Captain Class A’ certificate and has been serving onboard containership of our mother company, “Costamare Shipping Co. S.A.”, for the last 10 years. He belongs in the new generation of very capable Masters, entrusted with the command of more modern and large container vessels. His experience at sea is not limited on board containerships, but during the summer time, he has been sailing around the Greek islands with his private yacht. He is a dynamic, hard-working and very pleasant character, who always does his outmost to maintain the highest of standards. He is 33 years old, and passionate with scuba diving, sky diving, he likes travelling, and computers. He is fluent in English.
Chief Engineer: Stamatis Betsis
Stamatis, is 41 years old. He graduated from the Merchant Marine Academy as Chief Engineer. For 16 years he worked with “Costamare Shipping Co. S.A.”, our mother company, on container vessels. Since 2000 he belongs to “Carmen Serena” team and now he moved to “Carmen Fontana”. His excellent knowledge, professionalism and resourcefulness are some of his traits. He is very athletic and passionate with all seawater activities, especially swimming and fishing. He has good English command.
Boatswain: Nektarios Foteinatos
Nektarios’ working experience consists of over 12 year’s service in luxury yachts. Additionally to being a Certified Boatswain, he holds a motor-boat driving diploma, and he has taken part in several seminars to improve his knowledge in shipboard operation. He recently joined us taking on his duties with professionalism, responsibility and enthusiasm. Nektarios is passionate with all kind of water sports activities and he is willing to share small tips, especially in diving and fishing, with everyone who wishes to get an unforgettable “touch” with the sea-world. He has good knowledge of English and he is married with two children.
A.B. (Assistant Boatswain): Leonardo Villanueva
Leonardo is a certified sailor and has participated in several seminars in safety and survival techniques. He is confident, adaptable and practical-minded. As he has all the required standards of competence to undertake the tasks, duties and responsibilities, he is considered as an important member of the crew. He is 35 years old and speaks very good English.
Chef: Angelos Karamouzis
Angelos studied in the “Hotel & Tourism School” in the cooking division. After graduating he worked in several restaurants in Greece, as well as in the most luxury hotels in Athens. He is passionate with cooking and since he joined M/Y Carmen Fontana he brought with him his sense of perfection and creativity. He will do everything in his power to satisfy our guests. He has great knowledge of Greek and International cuisine. He is 30 years old and he speaks fluently English.
Chief Steward: Michalis Papalekakos
Michalis is a certified Chief Steward. As he has worked on luxury cruise ships for over 8 years, he has travelled almost everywhere in the world from Europe to America and the Antarctic. For the past 6 years he has been working as Chief Steward in luxury yachts and since he joined us on 2006, he brought along his many and valuable experiences. He is very attentive to detail and will do his best to meet every wish of our guests with politeness, readiness and willingness. Reading best sellers, football and water sports activities are some of his main hobbies. Michalis is 36 years old, fluent in English and father of two children
Stewardess: Kiriaki Makrogianeli
Kiriaki is 30 years old, and she is a new comer on ‘Carmen Fontana’ board. After her college graduation, she worked on P.R’s positions but her passion for travelling soon drove her business dreams into the sea-world, as a crew member of cruising ships and luxurious yachts. She joined us ready to provide her 10 year experience, energy, and enthusiasm. She has an excellent knowledge in English and German language. Reading novels, swimming and cinema are some of her hobbies.
Assistant Stewardess: Rea F. Capistrano
Although Rea has a Greek name, she was born in the Philippines 28 years ago. After her graduation from Hotel and Restaurant Management College, she attended several seminars regarding survival craft rescue boat, ship security awareness, and housekeeping as well. Polite and tactful will do everything to make guests feel comfortable and free to enjoy the cruise. She has worked on cruise ships as well as luxury yachts, and speaks English fluently.
