Captain: Kostas Papanikolatos
Captain Kostas is from Cephalonia Island. He holds a Class A Captain’s certificate and has over 20 year sea serving experience. After graduating from the Merchant Marine Academy, he started his career embarking on ocean going vessels and then he moved to passenger ships and luxury cruise ships travelling all over the world. He has excellent knowledge of the Mediterranean Sea as well as the Caribbean waters. From the first time he joined us on 2005, he brought all his valuable experience and professionalism. Seawater activities such as diving, swimming and fishing are his passion. He is 45 years old married with two children. He is fluent in English.
Chief Engineer: Nikitas Katsogianos
Nikitas holds an A’ class Chief Engineer diploma from the Merchant Marine Academy, Engineering Dept. During his career he has been working primarily on Cruising ships as well as on Ocean going vessels. Despite his high-level technical knowledge he tries to keep up with the international shipping technical evolution, by taking part in several seminars. He is 40 years old married with three children and has a very good knowledge of English.
Boatswain: Giannis Brigkos
Giannis was born on Imvros Island and has served at sea for over 20 years. He began his career working on Ocean going vessels and then he worked for 4 years on luxurious charter yachts. He has been with us for more than 5 years. He is passionate with all seawater activities and he holds a driving license for motor boats. He is 51 years old and has basic knowledge of English.
A.B. (Assistant Boatswain): Rico Pangilian
Rico is very enthusiastic being a part of our crew. He is a certified sailor, with special training in safety techniques, characterized by confidence and discretion. Rico has a 5 year experience on Ocean going vessels and is ready to provide assistance whenever needed. He is 26 years old and has a good knowledge of English.
Chef: Antonis Gavalas
Antonis joined us a year ago as member of Carmen Serena’s crew in a very enthusiastic way. After his graduation from the Chief’s Academy he started his career as a cook in various hotels and luxury restaurants in Athens and Greek islands as well. His passion for travelling led him to the yachting world. As he is a creative, energetic and open minded person, full of new ideas, he will never say “no” to new tasty challenges in order to surprise and please our guests in every possible way. He is specialized in Mediterranean and International dishes but he also likes to create new pastry flavours. He is 39 years old married with children and he speaks fluently both English and French.
Steward: Demetris Modinos
Demetris is a certified Steward. At the beginning of his career he worked in well-known first class restaurants for more than 4 years, where he obtained a great experience and professionalism. At the end of 2000 he joined “Carmen Serena”, with the passion and enthusiasm of a person who strives to achieve any important goal at his professional career. He continuously tries to expand his knowledge field and to improve his future expectations, either by studying or by participating in seminars concerning Hostelling Services and Restaurant Management. Demetris has also proven his ability to adapt efficient methods and solutions in any crew matter. Being a trustworthy and lively person, he always manages to do everything possible to keep our guests happy and he is really good at that! He is also a big sports fun and particularly likes swimming. He is 34 years old and fluent in English.
Stewardess: Nektaria Mytiliniou
Nektaria is 33 years old and joined our crew a year ago. Certified in the Hotel and Tourism Services, she has worked in all the Hotel departments, with 15 years of experience in several luxurious hotels in Creta Island. Bringing in her “baggage” professionalism, a sense of perfection and a big positive smile, Nektaria is ready to make guests feel at home. She is fluent in English and has a good knowledge of German and French. Although she is a mother of two children, Nektaria always finds time for reading books and experimenting with her motherland’s traditional “Cretan Cuisine”.
Assistant Stewardess: Corazon Balomaga
Cora was born in the Philippines 21 years ago. She is certified in Hotel and Restaurant Management, additionally to her previous working experience in hotel services and housekeeping positions. She is a low profile person, discreet and responsible and she will be ready to provide assistance during the cruise whenever needed. She has also a good English command.
