Argiris Kaltsounis
(b. 1973, Athens)
A graduate of the Merchant Marine Academy, Argiris holds the Captains C and the Yacht Master Offshore diplomas.
He holds certificates in GMDSS, Fire Fighting and First Aid, Personal Safety and Life Saving.
He speaks fluent English.
He has worked as an offshore sailing trainer for the Athens Sailing Club and has participated, on numerous occasions, in the Aegean Regatta and World Offshore sailing races with impressive wins. He has over sixteen years of service at sea on board various yachts. Between 1992 and 1999 he worked as captain on chartered sailing yachts and catamarans. In 1999 and 2000 he worked as captain on an 80 foot motor yacht. From 2000 until 2008 he worked as captain on the S/Y Erini an X-Yacht 562.
His excellent skills in commanding yachts, his impressive sailing experience around the bays and the small islands of the Greek Archipelago, his fine manners and his sense of humor are just a few of his charismas. Although sailing is his great passion, Argiris also enjoys diving, travelling and playing basketball.
Chef
Yannis Kapasakis
(b. 1968, Piraeus)
Yannis is married and has two children.
A graduate of the Professional School of Cooking in Anavissos, Attiki, he holds certificates in sailing in open sea and small highspeed boats, in Fire Fighting and First Aid, in Personal Safety and Life Saving.
He speaks good English and a bit of French.
He has worked at the Hilton Hotel (Corfu), the Intercontinental (Athens) and on private yachts (a Swan 112 foot sailing yacht and an O’Mega 242 foot motor yacht). He has his own catering business and teaches cooking in a school for professional chefs.
He has participated in a number of cooking competitions and has received many awards and distinctions such as the International Yachting Sympsium Poros 2005, (gold medal), as leader of a team in the Annual Competition For Young Chefs in 1999 (2 golds, 2 silvers, 1 bronze) and in 1998 (1 gold, 2 silvers). Yannis is a member of the Chef’s Club of Athens.
He enjoys fishing, diving, sailing, driving 4X4 cars and playing basketball.
Stewardess
Kostadina Samara
(b. 1968, Athens)
She is single and speaks fluent English.
She has served on board S/Y Mediterranean Sea and Dimitra K as Chef’s Assistant.
She has been working onboard Callistó since 1995.
In her free time she enjoys reading and seeing as much of the world as possible.
Sailor
Evagelos Chatzigiannakoudis
(b. 1976, Athens)
Evagelos holds a Diploma in Oceanography and Marine Biology. He has a Skippers Licence from the University of Plymouth (UK).
He is single and speaks fluent English.
Evagelos began his sailing service in 1998 as a sailor on the 38 foot S/Y Alsouma.
He served as skipper on board the Jetset speed boat between 2003 and 2006.
In his free time he enjoys diving and as he says about himself, “just can’t get enough of the sea”.
